Hi guys! So I’m finally posting about my skincare haul ❤️ Lately, I have researching & researching on so many products! And because of that – I ended up buying a lot 😅 I know, I know. It’s a bit overwhelming but hey, it’s the one thing I like to splurge on (aside from make-up 😉)
Anyway, I wanted to share this with you guys because a lot of these things I bought are on a lot of bloggers’ top ten lists!!! Idk, maybe you guys are thinking of buying them or maybe you guys want to try a few of these out. And so for this blog post, I am going to be writing about my first impressions of each product as well as how they’ve been performing so far. This is not an extensive review though since I have only been using these products for a while BUT as soon as I feel that I’ve been using these products enough, I’ll let you know what I REALLY think!
1. DearKlairs Supple Preparation Toner
So I ran out of my COSRX AHA BHA Clarifying Toner and needed a replacement. I wanted to try something new and so I researched for a good one and I stumbled upon this. I read that this toner is very good for sensitive skin because it cleanses and soothes. At first when I tried it, I noticed that it had a strong herbal smell. It’s not “bad” but it’s a bit strong, I’m guessing it’s because it contains a lot of Centella Asiatica which is actually VERY GOOD for healing fresh acne scars and calming down irritated skin. That’s actually one of the biggest reasons why I decided to buy it. I have some fresh scars and irritated skin and I’ve been looking for a toner that could calm it down – not just vitamin c since Vitamin c focuses more on lightening dark spots and not necessarily healing those irritated dry patches. Anyway, so far, this toner has been nothing less but amazing. My skin already feels super smooth. I’ve noticed that my fresh acne scars have calmed down and they’re no longer dry and irritated. I like this toner because I saw changes right away in how my skin felt and how less red it was (cause sometimes I get really red). If you’re looking for a toner for your sensitive skin, this could be it for you!
I bought this in Dara Beauty Market (@darabeautymarket) on Instagram! They sell a lot of Korean beauty products as well as other brands!
2. Heimish All Clean Balm
I know what you’re thinking… “I thought Clean it Zero was her holy grail balm cleanser!!?!” Well, I *think* I may have found something better. This is the Heimish All Clean Balm. This was actually recommended to me by my friend, Raya, who commented on my previous post about my skincare routine. This has been getting a bit of hype recently and so I had to try it because people were comparing it to Clean it Zero which is my absolute LOVE. I decided to… scout the competition… hehe. Plus look at the packaging!!!! It’s just so cute!!! So yeah. It’s around the same price as Banila Clean it Zero, if not a little cheaper. Compared to Clean it Zero, it is much more liquid. When I opened it, it looked like thick white goo. And it kinda gave me more of a herbal smell than a fruity smell like the one I get from Banila. But when I tried it. Omg, it was heaven. It just felt so good on my skin! And guess what?! It was able to take off my waterproof mascara way better than Clean it Zero ever could. And what I really like about it is that it’s much more foamy than oily. When I use Banila, right before I wash, my skin looks super oily cause of the cleanser but when I use this All Clean Balm, it looks more foamy and so I don’t get that icky oily feeling at all. So far, this cleanser has been doing wonders for me! I’m going to finish my Clean it Zero first though since I’m running out anyway and who knows, I might just get another tub of Heimish All Clean Balm!
I got this from The Skin Curator! She sells a lot of COSrx products also!
3. Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream
I’ve been seeing a lot of good reviews about this little jar of cream moisturizer. One of the bloggers I follow (one of my favorites and the reason I bought this cream), Snow White & The Asian Pear actually wrote a blog post on this product and that pretty much convinced me that YES I AM GOING TO BUY THIS. At first I thought it was a bigger jar cause it looked big, but when I got it, it was pretty tiny hahaha for a price of P1000+ so yeah pretty pricey BUT definitely worth it. It contains beneficial ingredients such as Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Ceramides. And so it’s very good for whitening, elasticity, anti-aging, moisturizing and hydrating! Yep, that’s all in this little jar. So far, this is the only moisturizer I’ve been using morning and night and my skin loves it! After putting it on, my face feels so soft and plump! It hydrates my skin without making it too oily or shiny. My only comment though is that it isn’t moisturizing enough for my dry patches and so I still add a bit more of my COSRX Honey Ceramide moisturizer on those areas for an extra moisturizing kick. Can’t wait to see what more this cream will do for me! It looks very promising!
I also bought this from Dara Beauty Market!
4. Herbivore Blue Clay Detoxifying Treatment Clay Mask
Love. I bought this because I wanted a mask that could calm down my flare ups or troubled times. And this does exactly that. It’s a clay mask and so it’s a bit messy BUT trust me when I tell you that it’s not as messy as compared to the other clay masks. Plus, you don’t need that much powder to cover your whole face! At first I thought, “Wow, this jar is going to be gone by next month.” But NO. It will last way longer than that. Because it doesn’t need that much powder as it doesn’t have to be too thick. So yeah, keep that in mind! I like using this mask because it really calms down my skin. And it doesn’t sting unlike other masks. I have sensitive skin and so I was kind of worried it might get irritated BUT this worked for me. The only thing I may not like about this product though is that it can be a bit drying and so you really have to moisturize after using it. And don’t overuse it! Maybe twice a month would be enough, especially if you have sensitive skin. Remember, less is more!
I bought this from Makeup Depot! Check them out on Instagram!
5. Origins Masks (Drink-up Intensive Overnight Mask & Out of trouble 10-minute mask)
I bought these two in Guam. I’ve been meaning to try Origins masks but they’re a bit pricey in Manila and so I decided to buy them in Guam for $26 each. I’m glad I did because I have been really liking these two! I bought the Drink-up Intensive Overnight mask because I was having trouble with my dry patches and so I wanted to find a mask that would moisturize them and so far this has been doing wonders. It has a fruity smell and so it smells very yummy! It’s the kind of mask that doesn’t leave you feeling oily. Once it’s absorbed by the skin, it doesn’t leave any residue. My skin just feels smooth, soft and hydrated. As for the 10-minute out of trouble make, I bought it cause I wanted a mask I could use for urgent times when I’m starting a breakout and I don’t want it to continue. I had a bad breakout in Guam and so I tested this out and it worked! It contains salicylic acid and zinc oxide which really helps in calming down the skin and decreasing breakouts. I’m going to continue using this and hopefully, my breakouts become less instense!
6. Mario Badescu Haul (Buffering Lotion, Drying Cream, Drying Lotion, AHA Botanical Body Soap, Rose Water Facial spray – not in the picture)
So they started selling this brand in Rustans’ and I decided to try it out because I have heard so many bloggers rave about it – even celebrities. I’ve tried everything except the Soap and so far I’ve been loving them all. The two I really love though are the Drying Lotion and the Facial Spray. The drying lotion is one of my holy grail products! I usually put it on pimples that are exposed – not cysts because that’s not what it works on. It stings a bit when I apply it but I really feel it killing the bacteria and drying out the pimple! And tbh I love that feeling (is that weird) hahaha as for the facial spray, I use it everyday! I was actually considering buying the glossier facial spray instead of this one but the Mario Badescu one is much cheaper and I just think it’s much more practical. It hydrates my skin so well and leaves on a dewy look which I absolutely love!
7. Sulwhasoo Masks (Overnight Vitalizing Mask Ex, TruFresh Soothing Mask, Clarifying Mask Ex, Radiance Energy Mask)
This was a complete impulse buy. I know that Sulwhasoo is a very good brand and so I decided to buy all these “mini-masks” for P1000 which isn’t bad. I haven’t had a chance to use any of them yet though cause I’ve been really busy and I’ve been using the other products but so far I’ve been reading good reviews on these four masks. I honestly can’t wait to try them out! And for sure I’ll let you guys know how it goes!
I bought this again from Dara Beauty Market! They sell so many good brands for reasonable prices!
8. Simple Micellar Cleansing Water & Oil Balancing Cleansing wipes (not in the picture)
I heard Simple is a really good brand for sensitive skin! You can get it almost anywhere! It’s a British Brand that’s been gaining a lot of hype here in the Philippines! I bought the Micellar Water from Pcx and the wipes from Kmart in Guam. They’re really affordable and so I say, go get em! They’re also very gentle. I use them when I need extra cleansing or when I have a lot of heavy makeup on. I do a lot of cleansing when I wear heavy makeup because the last thing I want is my pores clogged up with makeup. So far, these products have been helping me out with my “triple cleanse process” which I really like! And so YAY.
9. Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash
This was another impulse buy from Dara Beauty Market! It’s really affordable and so I wanted to try it out. It’s a powder wash and so it starts out as powder but once you rub it onto your damp face, it’ll turn into a foamy cleanser. I only used it twice so far but during those two times, I really felt it exfoliating my skin. Since they’re pretty much like grains, they really go deep and cleanse and exfoliate your skin. It’s also really fun to use tbh cause it’s powder and so it’s a cool product to have. I need to use it a bit more to have a better idea of how it’s benefiting my skin, but I definitely look forward to it!
10. COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream
Snail products have always been good to my skin. I love how these products make my skin feel moisturized and plump. I love my COSRX snail essence and so I decided to try out this cream because I heard it’s been getting so many good reviews. So far it’s been really helping with my fine lines and healing some of my dry patches! It’s a thick white kind of transparent cream with no fragrance at all which I appreciate cause there are times when I get turned off by products with strong fragrances. I use this in conjunction with my Dynasty Cream. I switch between the two and so far they’ve been working great and complementing each other and so they both really help!
11. Pure Actives Emu Oil
I was researching for a good oil I could use with my everyday moisturizer and this is what I found. Emu Oil is said to be good for many things! This oil does everything. It heals, moisturizes, hydrates and even more! I usually mix this with my moisturizer. I put around 2-3 drops. It definitely makes my skin feel so much more supple – as well as “glowy”. I put the oil directly on my fresh acne scars and it healed them plus moisturized them and so later on, they were no longer itchy or irritated but instead soothed. Plus it’s very good for sensitive skin!
Buy it from beautyMNL and try it out now!
12. Mumuso Black Pearl Eye Masks
I love eye masks!!!! I guess it’s cause I have really dark circles under my eyes plus they tend to get dry and so these are a must for me. I used to use the snail kind but I decided to try something new and therefore I bought this one! I love how they’re black! Well duh cause black pearl. But I read that black pearl is a favorite in Korean skincare! And so I was very excited to try these out. I only got to use them once though cause I haven’t found the time BUT when I used the first pair, I definitely noticed a change – my under eyes were much more hydrated and plump. The darkness was still there (wasn’t really expecting it to go away anyway) But when I applied concealer it was much more moisturized and I didn’t have fine lines I usually do and so I’m really looking forward to using them again and seeing the difference! Plus Mumuso is such an affordable Korean brand and so what are you waiting for????
